Half Way Across

On our little hike at the Chattahoochee River yesterday afternoon, we passed this old bridge. I could not find anything to read on it as I was wondering why there was only half still standing. Notice how blue the water looked. It is usually quite green but it was really reflecting the big beautiful blue sky.

Looks like one near my MIL's old house - in P'tree Corners. That's such a great picture, I can almost see the water moving!

Wow, that is so pretty! I still think you need to start selling some of these on etsy.

Thanks you all!
Jen, we were on the other side of the river from where Jones Bridge Park is (near your brother) so I wouldn't be surprised if that bridge is where you are thinking... Although I think there are a few but am not sure...

Wendy, I am starting to really consider that - esp. with my CA and Yosemite pics. Keep telling me to!

Renee, I love that idea! We should totally do that in March. That's when it starts to get really green along the trails of the Chat. Let's plan it!

If you had asked, I could have told you that the other half of the bridge was stolen in 1940. Yes, that's right. Half the bridge was stolen and the perps got clean away:

We weren't even in WWII yet (meaning the value of steel hadn't exploded), so they must have been really desperate for cash!

That is a beautiful picture, Kate! Almost looks like a painting, with the misty effects.
