New Neighbors

A few geese have been hanging out for the past week at the pond in the front of our n'hood. They are becoming more brazen with how close they will get to us. I pulled next to the curb and took this from my car window. They didn't seem to mind my being close. Perhaps the kids and I will take them a few pieces of bread tomorrow to welcome them. ;)

Our parents live in a neighborhood with a lake. There are lots of ducks that live on that lake, too. We've fed them several times and they are not wary of people at all--they even follow us around, expecting some bread crumbs! When we walk to the lake, they waddle up to us like it's dinner time.

Beautiful photo! But be careful -- I've never met a friendly geese in my life. Just scary ones that want to peck my eyes out. ;)

Just don't get near them if they've got a nest around! Great pic, though!

Oh, Kate, I just know they'll love the bread. If you can, hug a goose. (Actually, maybe not. I just read a few of the other comments, and seem to remember a bit of hissing associated with geese. I'll hug one of my chickens for you.) XO
