Rolling In

We made it back to the top of the mountain at the Golden Gate National Recreation Area by the time the fog rolled in. It was so awesome to watch. At one point, the bridge was almost invisible from the dense fog. In the far left corner, that the infamous Alcatraz.

In flight

I sure wish I had my camera on the right setting for this. I didn't think the seagull was going to take off so fast.

Flowers on the edge!

These grew on the cliffs and hills along the ocean. Beautiful view after view...

True Blue

Doesn't that look so inviting?
Too bad that water was probably in the 50's!

Fishing

Just some random man fishing...
I loved the way the rocks looked here.

What a drop

We drove down Rt. 1 or also called Pacific Coastal Highway (I think). This was our first sopt to view it. The steep drops to the ocean below just floored me. It's hard to tell the depth of the drop here but it had to have been 50-60 feet.

Scary

I debated on whether to even post this one since it's not that great. But it exudes a scary feeling of doom. And it looked pretty cool. So, why not a little something different!

Sunset

Once it started getting dark, we headed down a one lane curvy, steep at times, road. We had no idea where it would lead us to, it was getting dark, and we had no map. But my man said it would take us back at some point. It was an adventure - all about exploring!

Night View

After dinner, we came back to explore the Golden Gate Recreation area. This was taken at the top of a mountain near the bridge. I forgot to pack my tripod, so I was quite bummed I could not get a crystal clear night shot as I was hoping to. Oh well.

More views

Here is our first good view of the Golden Gate Bridge. Right when you get off the bridge, there is a pull off area to a panoramic viewing of the city.

On the bridge

Here was our first drive over the Golden Gate Bridge. I took quite a variety of pictures of this fascinating bridge so I'm just going to post in order. Note the little things sticking up in the center of the lanes. That's all that seperates the north and south bound lanes! Yikes!

Jet Trails

I love looking at jet trails and taking pictures of them. And this one tops my collection this far. We were passing by another plane and watching the jet trail form and expand was a delight (fascinating for me!).

What a view

I went to San Francisco this weekend and took 437 pictures. That's what digital camera's are for! So be forewarned, there are many pictures of San Fran to be posted. It is an absolutely beautiful area. So I will start from the beginning - my view from the airplane. We were passing over the rockies at this point. It's not exactly crystal clear since this was taken from the airplane window and we are going through thin clouds.

Crossing over to spring

A month ago, this was sprinkled with ice... now it's warming up!

Almost

It's beginning to look a little greener at the Chatahoochee River. I can't wait for this to be filled with vivid greenery - sans poison ivy, which I saw today.

Blooms

From buds, to partials, to full blooms. Now it stinks here!

Partial Bloom

This tree has buds in partial bloom, and thankfully they are not stinky yet...

Rays

I'd love to take a picture some day with the rays coming out of the clouds like crazy. But for now this will do. We were on the way to the airport so I took this picture from the car...

Guess what?

I took this picture tonight. Forgot to take my camera out and about with me today and missed out on a bunch of good shots... bummer. So take a guess at what this is.

Working Horse

I pass these horses when I drive out to my parents house. Of all places, they are at an entrance to a business park. So I told my children they are working horses. Actually, the area used to be a horse farm. So maybe horses from the past would be a better title!

Baby no more...

Our youngest of four turned 5 today. This age, to me, is magical. I just love it. OK, it's now time for a good cry. :(

New Neighbors

A few geese have been hanging out for the past week at the pond in the front of our n'hood. They are becoming more brazen with how close they will get to us. I pulled next to the curb and took this from my car window. They didn't seem to mind my being close. Perhaps the kids and I will take them a few pieces of bread tomorrow to welcome them. ;)

Rosey

Life is a rose; beware of its thorns.

Bessie

Just in case you really wanted to see one more picture of a cow... This cow was so close to the road; scratching her neck on the barbed wire. I made a u-turn and stopped in the road to quickly take this picture. It's not that clear but I had to make it quick!

Felinus in Utero?

I took a snow globe my kids gave me years ago and held it up to a light. I turned the shutter way low, and the fstop at f5. This is what I got... My man says "Looks like cats in the womb." Hmmm.... no comment!

Spire

Passed a church with a neat steeple on the way to my parents house the other day...
