New Noises

My son got his new electric guitar yesterday. I had fun trying to take creative pictures of it. I'll post a few more down the road... I look forward to him filling the house with more music.

Oh no!

Those were my exact words when I opened the back door and saw this ice. You see, we've already dealt with this pipe bursting from freezing temps two years ago. And my man just fixed it this summer. It was a p.a.i.n. to say the least. So when I saw this ice from last weekend, dread filled me (and him!). Luckily, it wasn't as bad as last time. It was just dripping overnight and so the ice formed. I just wish I didn't cut off the top of the faucet handle...

Crazy Sky

I took this the other day when I was driving. The sky was just crazy looking. So when I got off the highway and was at a red light on the exit ramp, I grabbed my camera and took a quick pic. I didn't have time to pull over and play with the shutter and aperture, so it's not at it's best quality. But oh how I wish I could have!

Beware of Dog

This was supposed to be "How much is that doggy in the window"... but after I got a little "arty"with it, my man says "It looks like a movie poster for a horror movie."

Bath Time

Didn't I just post a picture of one our animals cleaning itself? Well, here's one more because I know you really want to see it! ;)

I just wish I could make myself eat more of this...

Shower Time

Tonight, Coco was giving herself a bath. I didn't realize how challenging it would be to get a picture of her in action. Her head was all over the place. But I got a few decent pictures. Check out her tounge!

The sky is the limit

Before I went into the grocery store today, my eye caught how the clouds looked so cool with the sun behind it. And a plane just happened to go by as I was taking pictures.

I went by the church today that hosts our children's soccer league. I had to pick up a packet of info since I will be Team Mom for my youngest son's soccer team. I went by the empty field. As I stood there, it seemed like just yesterday when our oldest started playing. Now 6 years later, our youngest will start playing. That put things in perspective for me once again (this happens daily!). TIME FLIES! Hug 'em tight. Hold 'em close.

I think this tree has "issues"!

Saturday, February 17, 2007

On my way home today from my parents house, I stopped by to see the cattle. Something about watching them is peaceful.
There are three rows of barbed wire in the picture. The cow is centered between the first two. Can you see the second and third row? It really blended in well when I turned this picture from color to sepia tone.

Wishful Thinking

I am not feeling well today, so I am going to use a picture from ten days ago... We were forecasted to get ice and snow but instead had some freezing rain that quickly turned to rain. So, on the way home from my son's guitar lesson this morning, I stopped by the Chatahoochee River in hopes of getting a picture of fog. Instead of fog, this was the most I saw of the icey conditions here where I live. I am still wishfully hoping for some snow before spring.

Coco: "I may be smaller than you Mr. Frodo, but you need to start showing me a little more respect."

Blurred Vision

(I was just trying to be a little artsy fartsy here...) What is this? A rear view mirror or my sunglasses?

My man tells me this is dead poison ivy vines. Why so furry looking though?

Thursday, February 8, 2007

I stopped by the Chatahoochee River after my sons guitar lesson today. I was immediately drawn to this sign. I used to love fishing with my dad and brother... maybe one day again...

Run Free

OK, I'm cheating. I didn't take any pictures today; just didn't have time to. This one is from Monday when I drove around near my parents new home. I got out of the car to take a picture, and I just wanted to run free all over that hill.

Flower de Pear

Today as I cutting a pear for one of my daughters, she noticed how there was a flower in the pear. Then she said a starfish. I just had to take a picture of it. Now I am going to be noticing the insides of all fruits and veggies.

A River Runs Through It

The kids and I went grocery shopping and then to my parents new house to stock their fridge. They went back to VA to close on their house this past week, and by 5 today, they will be official GA residents. On my way back, I stopped by some side roads and took some pictures. This is the first picture I have used any sort of editing software. I used Paint Shop Pro for the first time. Oh boy, was that fun! In this picture, I just added some sepia tones. The sepia on my camera would have made this look all shades of rust so I like the way it turned out with PSP. My main goal when taking this picture was to focus on the tall weeds. It took awhile but it came out pretty focused. (The creek was a green color, definitely not brown as it looks here.)

Spring is Near

When I see flowers like this in the middle of winter, I fully anticipate spring. Around here, that's about 5 weeks away... Can't wait!

Go Away

There are quite a few pastures near my parents new house. I stopped alongside of the road today to say Hi to Mama and her little one. She louldy told me "MMMMRRRR". I'm pretty sure it she was saying "Go Away!"

From Ice to Rain

The best thing one can do when it's raining is to let it rain.
