I Did It!

I accomplished my goal of posting a picture a day. I posted 365 but took 8000 pictures this year! I am feeling more comfortable using my Nikon D80 and hope to improve even more so this year. I will leave you with one of my favorites from Yosemite (actually, I have about 100 favorites from that magnificent place!). Thanks for all of your sweet comments and encouraging words. It truly motivated me. :)

My team is headed for the playoffs after an extremely emotional season. There is no coincidence that they won by 21 points - for #21 - Sean Taylor.

Tomorrow completes a whole year for me and this blog. I am debating if I will continue it for another year. It's all or nothing so I am wrestling with it!

Faded Pink

These flowers were such a bright fuchsia shade of pink that I faded the picture so I could see more detail of the flower...

Geico was shedding his skin the other day and I was able to get a few good pictures of the process through the glass. I'm glad we don't shed like that!

All The Way Down

I have over 1000 pictures from our Yosemite trip and still have not viewed all of them! This is the best view I could get of Yosemite Falls. The first drop is 1400 feet; the second drop consists of a series of cascading waterfalls and is 675 feet; the last drop (pictured here) is 300 feet.

I wonder if this plant is part of the aloe family?

This was the coolest rock I had ever seen. I think it's a Serpentinite rock.
(I collect rocks from special places so I brought some home of course!)

Mountain Side

The picture from yesterday was on one side of the Cabrillo Highway/Route 1 CA - and on the other side was this beautiful mountain drive.

Let Me In

I know, another cat picture... I grabbed my camera when I saw our cat Frodo looking so sweet as he begged to come back in. The bad boy has been sneaking out too much lately with this warm weather and the doors wide open!

While hiking Sunday, we had a new perspective of just how bad the drought is here when we saw Lake Lanier. The water is down 19.73 feet. We saw many docks displaced on dry land. This picture isn't that great since I took it from the car window (while my man was driving).

Winter Berries

As I was leaving my parents house this afternoon, my eye was caught by these almost black berries. Mom, Dad, what kind are they?

Curious Christmas Cat

Coco was a total surprise Christmas morning of 2004. I was totally floored. Tonight, she was desperately meowing at the door (she is not an outdoor cat) so I opened the door and sat her on a small bush. Her eyes tell it all!

A reflection of trees in a puddle...

Watch your step! I definitely would not want to run this trail. There were roots everywhere!

Show Off

When I saw how this picture turned out, I thought, that tree is showing off! What's left of it's red leaves stood out among the cold and gray background.

Tuesday, November 27, 2007

I was trying to capture the fog over the Chattahoochee River yesterday, but instead I feel I captured how cold it was. This picture emits how chilly it was.

Rain Rain

please stay!

Note to self: Never again wear Chaco flips on a cement boat ramp that has a thin layer of mud.
I fell smack on my hiney when taking pictures at the Chattahoochee today. My lens hit the ground first but all seems well... oh the adventures never end...

I took this yesterday through the front windshield while sitting in traffic. The kids even noticed how cool the leaves looked drifting across the sky.

Moving On

This morning I stared at our Bradford tree, and took in it's mosaic beauty. Tomorrow we are expecting gusty winds so the leaves will be thinning out fast around here...
Here it was eight months ago...

Looking Up

Taken from my car window - looking up at the trees all around me. This picture really does not capture how the trees created such a beautiful mosaic effect.

Friday, November 16, 2007

Taking this picture was an adventure. When the tree caught my eye, I pulled over immediately to take a picture. Can you just hear my kids grumbling now?! I had to back up as far as I could to try to capture the whole tree and almost fell into a busy street! I just wish I had my sky/sun filter lens for this one. I think it would have made the sun behind the tree magnified. I will try to post the full tree tomorrow.

Autumn Foliage

On my way out of the neighborhood today, the colors by the pond looked pretty.
